Due to the controversy which surrounds the penis enlargement industry, a number of clinical studies have been conducted on this phenomenon. In reality, there are not a lot of clinical studies which are based on this topic, and many people believe that the controversy which surrounds it plays a great role in this.
While there have been some doctors who have had positive things to say about penis enlargement, at the very best, most are silent about the subject. Much of what many people know about penis enlargement comes from men who have used natural exercises to successfully enlarge the size of their penis.
The success of many of these men have led to the development of testimonial with regards to successful methods, but many people are still skeptical when talking about the topic, and this is perfectly understandable. For much of the history of penis enlargement, the successful methods and tools were often spread by word of mouth instead of advertising.
One exception to this is studies which were conducted by Brian Richards, a doctor who lives in the United Kingdom. He has written a large amount of books and papers which are specifically related to this topic.
Many of these studies were performed during the 1970s, and the study focused specifically on promoting methods which are effective, and exposing methods which were ineffective.
These methods came to be known as the Chartham Method. A series of studies for conducted for a period of about three months, and at the conclusion of the study, it was found that over 80% of the men who used the Chartham Method reporting gains in the size of their penis.
The gains which were reported by these men ranged from a minimum of .94 inches to a grand total of about 1.4 inches. I should note that this was for penis length.
As far as girth is concerned, the men who followed the Chartham Method were able to increase their girth size at a maximum of 1.2 inches on the high end, and .55 inches on the low end.
The results of this study are a clear testament to the fact that it is indeed possible for men to increase the size of their penis, but not to achieve the large gains that many men want, such as two or three inches.
